Toast Box @ Fort Bonifacio Global City

A few days ago i went on leave from work so i could have time to obtain a student permit from LTO [about time!]. Luckily enough, the process didn't take long and my brother and I finished earlier than expected. Before going home to spend the rest of the day bumming about, my dad treated us to his current favorite restaurant in the Global City area: the Singaporean restaurant, Toast Box.

Toast Box is located along Rizal Drive in Boni. It  can easily be spotted with its the beautiful white country-slash-classic-slash-modern-inspired interior and big glass walls. I'm always a big fan of a restaurant with good interior, it's one of those things that make people come back to a specific spot or place. :)

Of course aside from ogling at the trinkets that i wanted to keep for myself, we ate and drank. The Nanyang Coffee, which is one of Toast Box's best sellers is just heavenly! It had the consistency of a hot cocoa drink and a distinct sweetness that wasn't overpowering with the bitterness of the caffeine. I will definitely go back just to get another sip of this drink! The Ginger Lime Soda is another good thing to try too.

For the meals, the Hainanese Chicken Rice, Laksa, Nasi Goreng and their thick rice noodles (the image above is Hokkien Prawn Mee) are the must-trys!

Mondays are for Music

Recently I've rediscovered the wonderful music found in 8tracks where people can make playlists on a whim. It's a neat way to find new songs and artists. I've actually made a playlist on my phone based (mostly) on the songs i heard on the site, and it's still on repeat until now!

As Sure As The Sun - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Blood - Band Of Skulls
Coming Down - Dum Dum Girls
Cough Syrup - Young The Giant
Dreamworld - Rilo Kiley
The Flame - The Black Keys
I Can't Hear You - The Dead Weather
Rolling In On A Burning Tire - The Dead Weather
Ocean Breathes Salty - Modest Mouse
The Big Fight - Stars
Maybe Tomorrow - Stereophonics
Lover I Don't Have To Love - Bettie Seervert

There's always that time in a day when the sun is just about to come up out of the clouds and there's this certain color in the skies that is a mixture of the gray and golden yellow, and it just looks amazing. It's like a sunset, when you see it you just can't take your eyes off it and somehow, you feel at peace.

Shiro

So i've been busy with other things, that much is evident here in the lack of posts and updates. I know i promised to keep writing/drawing/doing-other-artsy-stuff regardless of the slice-of-the-real-world circumstances that prevent me from doing so, but there are just days and weeks like these that come ever so often in a writer's life. It's the so-called writer's block.

Anyways, on a brighter note we have a new member in our cozy home: a white Siberian Husky named Shiro.

Ain't he a cutie?

In case you're wondering i was filing his nails while the picture was taken since he keeps on jumping on anything--mostly our legs--rather enthusiastically. Everyone loves him and wants to baby him. It's kind of a problem since he will probably get spoiled, but a bit of discipline here and there does the trick. They say that it is important to start training the dog as early as possible, because when they get older they become more stubborn and habitual to their old ways. It will take a lot of patience, understanding, and a whole lot of time but i'm pretty sure it will be all worth it.
